There’s nothing quite like a perfect cocktail to get people mingling and conversation flowing—two things you really want to happen at your next masquerade party. Whether you’re planning on making these yourself or you’ve hired a bartender, here’s five of our favorite cocktail recipes just for you.
Champagne Cocktail
You will need:
- Sugar cubes
- Angostura bitters
- Champagne (or Prosecco, for a less costly alternative)
- Orange peel twist
Soak the sugar cube in 2-3 dashes of Angostura bitters and place at the bottom of a champagne flute. Fill the glass with champagne, and garnish with a twist of orange.
Dark and Stormy
You will need:
- 2 oz. dark rum
- 4 oz. parts ginger beer
- Lime wedge
- Ice
Fill a high-ball glass with ice, then pour in the dark rum followed by the ginger beer. Garnish with a wedge of lime.
Campari Orange
You will need:
- 1 part Campari
- 3 parts orange juice
- Orange slice
- Ice
Fill a high-ball glass with ice, then pour in the Campari followed by the orange juice. Garnish with a slice of orange.
Dry Martini
You will need:
- ½ oz. dry vermouth
- 2 1/2 oz. gin
- 1 green olive, pitted
- Ice
Fill a large juice glass with ice, then pour in the gin followed by the dry vermouth. Using a strainer, pour the liquid into a chilled martini glass, leaving all of the ice behind. Garnish with a single green olive.
OldFashioned
You will need:
- 1 tbsp. simple syrup
- 2-3 dashes Angostura bitters
- 2 oz. bourbon
- 1 lemon peel twist
- 1 large ice cube
Place the simple syrup in a rocks glass, followed by the Angostura bitters and bourbon. Stir the drink, then carefully place the large ice cube into the glass, followed by the lemon twist for garnish.
