Halloween is a celebration. A night to dress to the nines and show off a side of yourself that is only seen once a year. We put everything into our outfits and not surprisingly we put just as much into our parties as well. Not surprisingly, Halloween has become the second most expensive holiday after Christmas. Here are 7 of the most expensive Halloween parties ever.
The Haunted Ball in San Francisco
For more than a decade this San Francisco tradition has attracted all sorts of Halloween celebrators. It has been called the most expensive and lavish theatrical Halloween production generally coming in at around $75 000 each year. Tickets sell from $40-50 for general admission and up to $500 for VIP. Prizes go out for best costume, sexiest costume, scariest costume, best couple costume and best group costume. This party almost always happens at celebrity owned Ana Mandara so you know the guest list will always be fantastic.
Kate Hudson’s Annual Pacific Palisades Bash
This party is a star-studded favourite. No cost is spared as Hudson pulls out all the stops to make sure her celebrity friends have the best time at her annual Halloween party. Last year her theme was Sons of Anarchy and boasted stars like Katy Perry, Rachel Zoe and Lily Allen. It’s hard to say how much this party costs but it’s safe to say that it has to be somewhere in the tens of thousands. Her 2008 party is said to have been broken up due to its large size so you know this annual bash will always be one of the most impressive, expensive parties.
Playboy Mansion’s Kandy Halloween Party
Need I say more? This annual party hosted by the Playboy Mansion boasts a celebrity guest list and beautiful women. A 4000 square foot haunted house, open bar and fabulous music featuring the top DJs including LMFAO this party does not come cheap at $1000 per ticket. This party has to be one of the most expensive Halloween parties – at $1000 per guest with over a hundred guests I can only imagine this party moves well into the $100 000 mark.
LA Dream Halloween Party
A Halloween party that doubles as a charity event. A celebrity favourite for the last twenty years, this party has raised over $36 million for children affected with AIDS. A favourite event of Teri Hatcher, Jamie Lee Curtis and the Demi Moore and Bruce Willis clan this event is incredibly star-studded and open to all ages. With all these stars and all this philanthropy you know this party has to pull out all the stops making it one of the most expensive parties surely running near the $50000 mark.
PAMA’s 2008 Halloween Masquerade
Hosted by none other than Kim Kardashian this party was all the rave swimming with all your favourite reality TV stars including Derek Hough, Cheryl Burke and of course, the Kardashians. There are no exact numbers on this party but as it was hosted by Kim, I can only image the price tag was well over $100 000.
Bette Milder’s Hulaween Party
Every year Bette Milder hosts a lavish Halloween party for her charity the New York Restoration Project. Her Hulaween party has gone down in history as one of the most impressive and expensive parties. Hosting celebrities like Debra Messing, Michael Kors and Martha Stewart this party had live music played by Stevie Wonder. Like the LA Dream Party, though this is for charity no expensive were spared and you just know Bette Milder put her best dollar forward to throw the best party for her charity and friends.
Heidi Klum’s Annual Halloween Party
Every year Heidi Klum pulls out all the stops for Halloween. Last year was no different. Dressed magnificently from head to toe in body paint and butterfly wings, Klum hosted last year’s Halloween Bash at TAO Downtown in New York. Celebrities like Joe Jonas, Zoe Kravitz and Ben Mackenzie all celebrated dressed in their Halloween best. You know taking over New York with a rockin’ party costs a pretty penny and Klum definitely made sure her guests had the greatest Halloween so the dollar amount of this party is anyone’s guess but I’m thinking anywhere in the tens of thousands.
